Grants and Scholarships
The financial resources of the Union County Foundation are used to make grants and scholarships that benefit the quality of life for all the citizens of Union County. The Foundation provides a vehicle for gifts of any size or character to be used to that end. See below for our various programs.

Scholarships for Union County Graduating High School Seniors
The Union County Foundation houses funds that provide scholarships to qualifying high school seniors throughout Union County.

Marysville Business Association Chad Flowers Memorial Scholarship
Chad Flowers, City Planner for Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2019 at the age of 40. This scholarship, designed to help a Marysville student move into a career in business, is dedicated to Chad’s memory and his contribution to the growth of business in the City of Marysville.

Kathryn I. Marsh Coleman & James H. Coleman Memorial Scholarship
The Coleman Memorial Scholarship fund benefits children with disabilities, ages 18 and under, by providing support for camp experiences.

Union County Foundation Quarterly Grant Program
The Union County Foundation offers a Quarterly Grant Program to support non-profit groups and organizations in Union County.

The Cline Family Community Fund Grants
This donor-advised Fund was established by Union County residents Mark & Cheryl Cline in 2021. The fund supports community organizations that provide services for the betterment of the residents of Union County.
Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Union County Fund Hometown Community Garden and Greenspace Grants

To promote the development and maintenance of thriving community gardens and greenspaces in its hometown of Union County, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Foundation Fund offers an annual grant program to fund public greenscapes.

2021 Garden & Greenspace Grant Recipients:
  • City of Marysville
  • The Nature Conservancy in Ohio
  • Village of Plain City
  • World of Wonder Child Care and Learning Center

John & Kandy Taylor College Expenses Grant
This program was established in 2019, to honor the memory of John and Kandy Taylor. They were both strong supporters of helping the Union County community and higher education.

This grant awards one student recipient per academic school year (Autumn through Summer semester). The recipient would be reimbursed for school-related purchases (i.e. textbooks, classroom materials, supplies) each semester, for a combined total of up to $200.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Union County Resident (proof required)
  • Must be accepted or enrolled into post-secondary accredited college/university/technical school (proof required)

Completed applications with the required documents must be received by May 1, 2023 for the 2023-2024 academic school year. At that time, applications will be reviewed and applicants will be notified.
