Sara Mae Burnside Scholarship Fund

Funded by a bequest of Mrs. Burnside and Kathleen Imbody, these annual scholarships are awarded to North Union graduates for the purpose of furthering their education at the college level.

Charles Andrew Baesmann II Memorial Fund

The fund memorializes the life of MHS student Charles Andrew (Charlie, Chaz, Scooter) Baesmann II. The fund supports the Marysville High School FFA program, and Union County 4-H Clubs.

Charles E Bynner & Carole Wendy Bynner Scholarship

This fund was formed in honor of Charles & Wendy Bynner. The Bynners are keenly aware of the importance of education, thus the fund supports scholarships to a graduating sr. from Dublin Jerome, Fairbanks, or Jonathan Alder (or affiliated schools).

Chad Flowers Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship, designed to help a Marysville student move into a career in business, is dedicated to Chad’s memory and his contribution to the growth of business in the City of Marysville.

Ben & Mary Coleman Scholarship Fund

Funded by a generous bequest from the estate of long-time Marysville residents Ben and Mary Coleman. These annual renewable scholarships are open to graduating seniors from Fairbanks, Marysville, North Union, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, Tolles Career & Technical Center, and Tri-Rivers Career Center who will be pursuing agricultural studies at the college level.

Pat Conlon Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was initiated by the family of Pat Conlon to honor her commitment to education. The fund supports scholarships to graduating Marysville High School students.

Rebecca S. Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Rebecca S. Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2021 by the estate of Ms. Craig and is available for Memorial Health employees wishing to pursue higher education in studying Allied Health.

Andrew Daum Memorial Soccer Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of Marysville High School soccer athlete Andrew Daum, and is awarded to a graduating MHS senior soccer athlete pursuing a college or technical degree.

The Bob and Eula Jean Davis Memorial Scholarship Fund

The fund memorializes the lives of York Center High School and Richwood High School graduates Bob And Eula Jean Davis. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating North Union student who models excellence in academics, school activities, and community service.

The Robert and Joan Deaton Scholarship Fund

This fund was formed in memory of Robert and Joan Deaton by their children. The fund supports a scholarship to a Marysville High School graduating senior to pursue a post-secondary education of his or her choosing.

Distinguished Young Women of Ohio Fund

This designated fund supports the Distinguished Young Women of Ohio program; including annual scholarships for selected young women. The Ohio program is part of the national program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership, and talent in young women.

Lila Dodd and Nancy Esthus Scholarship Fund

Created in loving memory of Lila Dodd and Nancy Esthus, this fund supports scholarships for graduating Marysville students who have displayed outstanding academic and leadership qualities.

Larry & Jan Dunn Scholarship Fund

Funded through the generosity of long-time Marysville residents Larry & Jan Dunn, these annual scholarships are awarded to Marysville and North Union High School graduating seniors pursuing education at the college level.

The Fairbanks Education Foundation

Intended for the enrichment of Fairbanks Schools through grants, student scholarships and gifts, this fund is a way for people of the community, alumni, and friends to give to their schools.

Fairbanks Education Fund

Funded by a gift from the estate of former Fairbanks Elementary Guidance Counselor Darla Hall-Barrett, this fund will support school projects within the Fairbanks School District, and scholarships for graduating FHS seniors who have participated in the arts for at least two years.

The David Fisher Scholarship Fund

Created in loving memory of Vietnam Veteran David Fisher, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating Fairbanks High School student who is pursuing a medical-related degree at a 2 or 4-year university or vocational/trade school.

Robert M. Fox Scholarship Fund

Robert M. Fox devoted all of his life to the world of agriculture in the community that he loved. This fund will provide scholarships for North Union students showing good academic skills in Vocational Agriculture, and also a commitment to involvement and service to their school and community.

Charles and Marjorie Green Scholarship Fund

The Green family unselfishly established a scholarship Fund that provides financial assistance to a Marysville High School senior active in what was dear to Charles: technical fields, vocational studies, and agriculture.

Jeffrey L. “Griff” Griffith Scholarship Fund

This Fund was initiated in memory of Jeffrey L. Griffith, long-time resident of Richwood and alumni of North Union High School. The Fund underwrites a scholarship award to a graduating NUHS athlete.

Lucy Ellen Haywood Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was founded in 2020 in memory of Lucy Ellen Haywood. She spent many decades teaching and modeling her Christian faith. As such, via her last will and testament, she included provision to lend financial support to those men and women who choose to pursue the field of ministry. 

The Hearts of Gold and Courage: The Collin Tanner & Devon Burke Scholarship Fund

This fund supports scholarships awarded to graduates of Marysville High School in honor of Devon Burke & Collin Tanner. Devon was a 2016 graduated of MHS and Collin graduated in 2021 and these scholarships celebrate their passion, optimism and strength.

Walter & Doris Herd Scholarship Fund

The fund memorializes the lives of Walter & Doris Herd. The fund supports scholarships for graduating MHS agricultural students. Uniquely, this scholarship is not based on academic standing but more on agriculture affiliation and service.

Corey Hoehn Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is available to senior members of the Marysville High School boys’ baseball, basketball, or football teams; or Marysville High School girls’ softball or basketball teams.

The Jonathan Alder Education Foundation

The Jonathan Alder Education Foundation is dedicated to securing and administering contributions for the enrichment of the Jonathan Alder Schools through grants, student scholarships, and gifts.

Dr. C. B. Mills Memorial-Kiwanis College Scholarship Fund

The Dr. C. B. Mills Memorial-Kiwanis College Scholarship Fund will benefit a Marysville High School student each year.

Sargent V. Chamberlain-Kiwanis College Scholarship Fund

The Sargent V. Chamberlain-Kiwanis College Scholarship Fund will benefit a Fairbanks High School student each year.

G.L. Kingsmore Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established in loving memory of G.L Kingsmore, a teacher for over 35 years, and also served the greater community as councilman and mayor. Graduating seniors from Marysville High School who are scheduled for enrollment at a 2 or 4-year college, university, or trade school are eligible for this annual scholarship.

The Donald Jolliff Family Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established in honor and memory of James Donald “Don” Jolliff. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating North Union student pursuing an agriculture-related degree.

William Logan Krebehenne Memorial Scholarship Fund

This fund benefits graduating North Union High School seniors active in athletics and pursuing an agricultural/natural resources-related major.

Dan B. Kyle Scholarship Fund

Established in 1994, this fund enables scholarships to be awarded each year to qualified seniors at North Union High School who are going into the field of Finance or Education. Dan’s family keeps his memory alive through the lives of these students.

Dr. Malcolm & Barbara MacIvor Scholarship Fund

Established by the MacIvor Family in memory of long-time local physician, Malcolm MacIvor M.D., this fund benefits those pursuing an education toward a medical-related vocation.

Marysville Moose Family Center Scholarship Fund

This fund underwrites scholarships awarded annually by the Moose Family Center to qualifying students with legacy ties to the local Moose organization.

Jason K. Mathewson Memorial Scholarship

Initiated by the Marysville FFA Alumni, Jason’s family, and friends, this scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating MHS student who displays leadership, responsibility, and a commitment to the Marysville FFA.

The McElheny Family Foundation Fund

Established by former Richwood resident and M.I.T. graduate John D. McElheny, this fund supports annual academic awards in the form of quality books to North Union college prep students in grades 8-12.

Memorial Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship Fund

The Medical Staff of Memorial Hospital wishes to support the educational pursuits of those Union County residents that desire to pursue an accredited field of study in health including medicine, nursing, physical therapy, or biological sciences.

MHS Alumni Scholarship Foundation Fund

The fund annually supports multiple scholarships to graduating Marysville High School seniors. Selections are based on excellence in academic achievement, citizenship, leadership, and service.

The Conner Ann Miller Scholarship Fund

Established in 2018 in honor and memory of Conner Ann Miller. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating North Union student based on FFA participation, academics, and community service.

The Mintier Veteran’s Scholarship Fund

The fund memorializes the life of Vietnam veteran Robert Mintier. Scholarship candidates must be graduating seniors from MHS and must be sons or daughters of U.S. Veterans.

The Patrick and Dorothy Mudgett Scholarship Fund

This scholarship Fund was established in 2021 by Carole Drake, daughter of Dorothy Mudgett. The fund supports scholarship awards to graduating Marysville High School students who are pursuing post-secondary education in nursing or medical-related field.

The Northwest Neighborhood Alliance Scholarship Fund

Established in 2022 by David and Jean Thornton and Twyla & Jim Elliott, this fund supports scholarship awards to one graduating Marysville High School student and one graduating North Union High School student. Particular priority is given to students pursuing an environmental field of study.

Pat and Tom Nuckles Scholarship Fund

This fund was created through the estate of Patricia J. Nuckles to assist graduating Marysville High School and Triad High School students pursuing post-secondary education. The selection is based on academic achievement and financial needs.

Rita Rubeck Parker Fund

This scholarship fund memorializes Bernard “Barney” Rubeck. The fund assists graduating seniors from North Union High School and Tri-Rivers Career Center, and may be applied to any accredited two-year, four-year university, or technical school.

Richwood Area Business Association Scholarship Fund

This fund supports scholarships to graduating seniors from North Union High School and Tri-Rivers Career Center who intend to pursue post-secondary education in general business.

The Seiter Family Scholarship Fund

Established in 2019 in honor and memory of L. Wayne Seiter. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating North Union student based on FFA/athletics participation, academics, and community service.

The Marilyn Shearer Memorial Scholarship Fund

Established in 2019 in honor and memory of Marysville resident Marilyn Shearer. This annual scholarship is awarded to a graduating Marysville High School, Fairbanks High School, or North Union High School female student, preferable with a legacy connection to Daughters of the American Revolution.

Susan Finch Simpson Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is a tribute to the life of Susan Finch Simpson, a proud 1997 graduate of Marysville High School. An annual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from Marysville High School based on academic achievement and potential, character, community service, and financial need.

The Dr. Douglas S. Skura Scholarship Fund

Established in memory of Dr. Skura, who was an esteemed and accomplished orthopedic surgeon at Memorial Health for fourteen years. Funded by a bequest of Mrs. Burnside and Kathleen Imbody, these annual scholarships are awarded to North Union graduates for the purpose of furthering their education at the college level.

Summer Theater Workshop Scholarship Fund

Funded by a bequest of Mrs. Burnside and Kathleen Imbody, these annual scholarships are awarded to North Union graduates for the purpose of furthering their education at the college level.

John & Kandy Taylor College Book Allowance

This fund is in honor and memory of John and Kandy Taylor. Kandy was a retired teacher from Marysville Schools and an active community member. John was a retired banker and was also very active in the community. They understood the value of education and as such supported post-secondary education in any way they could.  

Union Rural Electric Scholarship Fund

This fund underwrites annual scholarships awarded by URE to URE Cooperative members’ outstanding graduating high school students.

The David A Vollrath Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created to honor David Vollrath’s 20 plus years of selfless service and acknowledge his lasting impact on the Union County Foundation. Dave served as the Executive Director of the Foundation from 1991 to 2021. 

Georgeann Vollrath Memorial Fund

The fund memorializes a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who had a special place in her heart for children and parochial education. The fund supports scholarships to Trinity Lutheran School for children of financially challenged families.

The Roy A Wallace BIF Memorial Fund

Established to memorialize Beef Improvement Federation 40-year member Roy Wallace, this fund supports beef breeding genetics and scholarships for students to apply to a field of study related to the beef cattle industry.

Dave and Elizabeth Ward Scholarship Fund

Formed in the memory of Dave and Elizabeth Ward by their children, this fund supports scholarships to a graduating Marysville High School Eagle Scout and a Marysville High School student pursuing a major in music

Laverne & Juanita Yoder Charitable Fund

This fund memorializes the Yoder family of West Liberty and provides annual scholarships to members of the West Liberty United Methodist Church. It also supports non-profit, Union & Marion County organizations providing hospice care, hospital services, and extended or skilled medical care.
