SheGives Union County

Women Connecting. Giving. Impacting.

What happens when women come together with a shared purpose and a passion for making a difference?

They create meaningful change.

SheGives Union County is a women’s giving circle established under the umbrella of the Union County Foundation. Created by local women who believe in the power of collective philanthropy, SheGives brings together women from across Union County to learn, connect, and invest in the shared future of our community.

Whether you are a lifelong philanthropist or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back, SheGives offers an opportunity to be part of something bigger than any one individual. Together, our members pool their charitable contributions, learn about community needs, and make grants that create lasting impact right here in Union County.

As a member of SheGives Union County, you will:

  • Join a network of women committed to strengthening our community
  • Learn about local challenges, opportunities, and nonprofit organizations
  • Participate in thoughtful discussions about community impact
  • Help direct collective grantmaking that supports meaningful local initiatives
  • Build relationships with women who share a spirit of generosity and civic engagement
  • Amplify the impact of your charitable giving through collective philanthropy

The Power of Collective Giving

Every contribution matters. When women combine their resources, knowledge, and perspectives, they can make investments that are larger, more strategic, and more transformative than any one donor could make alone.

SheGives is built on a simple belief: together, we can accomplish more.

How It Works

SheGives Union County makes philanthropy simple, engaging, and impactful.

Members make four $100 contributions, corresponding to each giving event. Those individual gifts are combined into one larger community grant, allowing members to see the power of collective giving in action.

At each gathering, three nonprofit organizations serving Union County are invited to present their mission and a specific project or need for funding. Each organization is given 10 minutes to share its story and explain how grant funding would make a difference.

Following the presentations, members cast a confidential vote for the organization they believe should receive the primary grant award. The results are immediate:

  • 80% of the evening’s collected contributions are awarded to the nonprofit receiving the most member votes.
  • The remaining two organizations each receive 10% of the collected funds in recognition of their important work in our community.

Every member has an equal voice. Every vote matters. We even have a proxy vote process for members who can’t make a meeting. And every participating nonprofit leaves with funding to support its mission.

More Than Giving

SheGives is about more than writing a check. It’s about creating connections, learning about the needs and opportunities within Union County, and empowering women to be active participants in shaping our community’s future.

Members have a voice in the grantmaking process and an opportunity to see firsthand how collective generosity can create positive change.
