How do I apply for Union County scholarships?

Yes. Many Union County Foundation scholarships support students attending trade schools, technical programs, and other post-secondary education paths, in addition to traditional colleges and universities. 

How can I increase my chances of receiving a scholarship?

Are there scholarships for students already in college?

Yes. In addition to scholarships for graduating high school seniors, the Union County Foundation offers select scholarships and grants for students already enrolled in college, seminary, or other postsecondary programs. Eligibility and timelines vary by fund. 

Does SmarterSelect save my application if I don’t finish it all at once?

Yes. After creating an account, you can log in to SmarterSelect and update your application as many times as you want until it is submitted. Once an application is submitted, it can no longer be edited.

What do the different statuses of my application mean?

Incomplete – You have started the application but have not submitted it. 

Pending – You have submitted your application, but one or more required items are still missing, such as a letter of recommendation. Check with your reference to make sure they have completed and submitted the required materials. 

Submitted – All required information has been completed, and your application has been successfully submitted for review.
